Protective Device Coordination Study
Protective Device Coordination studies seek to meet protection requirements, while isolating the smallest portion of the system for a fault or other disturbance.  Coordination Studies should be included in new construction and upgrade projects, where adjustable trip circuit breakers and relays are used.

Electrical Contractors:  Studies are available to meet project specs and provide you with the trip settings needed for low voltage breakers and medium voltage relays.

Facility Managers:  If you've experienced power loss to a larger portion of the system than was necessary, the Coordination Study is a great benefit.  This service can identify problem areas, minimize downtime, and maximize the potential of equipment already place. 

      Coordination Studies:

  • Review circuit breaker & fuse applications.
  • Determine device size, or settings, to meet system protection requirements.
  • Provide recommended trip device settings for low voltage breakers.
  • Provide recommended trip settings for medium voltage relays.
  • Include time-current curves used to graphically illustrate selectivity (coordination) between devices.
  • Provide a written summary of system coordination & recommendations.
